A thread for asking for suggestions/sharing ideas.
So, I am doing two courses at the same time. In theory, I should not be doing the second one until the first one has finished but I managed to persuade them that I would be fine and they took my word for it! As part of both courses, I need to do researches: one to be submitted in a report, the other one to be presented in the class. If I used my research for the first one as my presentation, will I be cheating? The courses are very similar in nature; sort of follow-ups and I don't want to reinvent the wheel. I wouldn't mind reducing my workload either, needless to say.
I don't think it's cheating. In my teaching courses I've learned to get all the mileage out of everything. That is really stressed in these courses. In fact, I'm turning 9 HUGE assignments into 3 this semester. I'll have to work them around a little differently but it will save me so much work. We shouldn't have to reinvent the wheel! I've even turned in essays from classes done two or three years ago. If you have the same instructor for both classes I might check with them, though, just to be on the safe side.

Thanks for your feedback. The instructors are not the same; I doubt if anyone will notice unless I open my big mouth - which I probably will in the name of being honest and all. Anyway, I will see how it goes.
this group is just what I needed! I have to a quantitative research for sociology and I was thinking about doing something that concerns animals since it's a big interest of mine and I have a lot of people around me who could answer a question list but WHAT? I manly have to learn how to make this kind of research so it's just about 10 pages but I need some ideas... if anyone can help... oh and I definitely don't think it's cheating to use the some research for two different courses, it just means you'll have more time to make it a good one

Maybe you can look into why certain people choose the particular pets they do... Like why fish, cat, dog, iguana, snake or whatever? And see if there is a pattern? Just a shot in the dark.
As it turns out, for the presentation, they are assigning us a topic and we will choose something about that so I won't be abel to use the research for it :-/ But I have a good idea for presentation topic. Should make a good PP as well.
