If it's outstanding you want, check out Hillwalker's latest poem, "Mairy's Ditch." As for what has seemed to you to be inflated praise for other poems, it may have been Lallison being sarcastic or someone else deliberately mocking a poet by over-praising his or her work. I do understand that feeling and am always a bit intimidated in advance of reading a new poem, afraid that the poet has employed a code to deep for me to decypher. T.S. Eliot once wrote that he never tried to understand a poem on first reading it but just trusted that something of the essence would come through to him, with which he would rely on when re-reading it. Perhaps indeed the secret is NOT to read a poem so much as to re-read it, though even that I'm sometimes reluctant to do. But I believe I've seen you on the Personal Poetry Forum: was it only in the form of critiques?

Oh, thanks for cluing me in. I was just starting to get familiar with "Bastard Child"s marvelous poetry and got worried that there might be something murky to his/her story.

Hey I would just like to say that I loved your post in the "White Male" thread. It was the most logical and sensible I've seen in a long time. And indeed it is true, the times are a' changing for the better and it is inevitable that there will be problems in the face of progress and greater diversity.
