You're such a mean fella. I wouldn't pick you up out of a drain if you paid me!

You're such a nice person, you know that? :)
Well nobody ever told me I was required to know anything here, but the content of what people wrote told me otherwise. You give good advice about posting to threads you knew nothing about. I may try...
'ello
I find goodreads kinda empty too. I have 72 friends from my facebook account and very few of them ever post that they're reading books, or if they do it's from 2 years ago or something.
Not only...
I do. It sometimes feels as if I am the only person that enjoys doing it and makes a point to make time to do it. Everyone else "doesn't have the time." or doesn't read for one reason or another....
Now that's what I call a list! Although, still popular pieces of classical writing, there are quite a few entries on there that I don't have written down on my classic to-read list. Thanks!
You may very well be right, and..you know what? The Picture of Dorian Gray did win me over in the end. I now think the entire thing was perfect, but deserving of a re-read because of philosophical...
I am happy to report that I've given up on this rule. Life is too short to finish a book that is terrible.
This may be what is happening to me. Right now I'm reading a piece of victorian literature…The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, and I'm finding it rather…erm…shallow and dull. I mean, who cares...
I think I may be losing my ability to enjoy reading. The last book I read…The Stand by Stephen King…took me 3 months to finish. I am a very tenacious reader, so even if I hate a book, I will finish...

It's not boring to me.
WW2 was a major world war and millions of innocent people were killed. How could anything tied to that be boring due to it's sheer relevance in the larger scheme of what...
This thread is only supposed to be about mein kampf and how hitler ties into mein kampf. Not discussion of the man sans the book. Not the discussion of what evil is.
GOOD GRIEF PEOPLE!
Wow I never meant for my thread to get this heated or this long. I was talking about mein kampf, not everything else about the man & the holocaust.
when i was 18, i made the goal to read all of Dean Koontz's works. Now, i am 23 and i have read 35 of his novels. Even now I am learning new words from him and increasing my vocabulary. Dean Koontz's...
Holy crap. My thread exploded! O_O
I just listened to two more files of Mein Kampf today on the train. Every time I listen to it in public I get paranoid people around me are going to hear it and...
Maybe its easier to digest in audio form. The guy reading it has a german accent.
Actually I've read only bits and pieces so I can't say what is my favorite part.
Actually, as do I. Religion minor here.
People say the bible is boring but its one of the most analyzed texts in history. So, yeah, not all literature is interesting I guss.
I wonder why it doesn't come through. Maybe he was a better speaker than writer. But they are both language, so kind of confusing this would be bad.
Maybe it was really editorialized or he wrote...
I have mein kampf in an audio format so when I can't sleep, I turn on my ipod and listen to it until I feel tired.
I am re-reading it right now and I am having difficulty trying to find people to discuss it with without the fear of them being like "OMG! NAZI!"
Uhm, no. Not going to turn me into a Nazi. I just...
LOL I like this. :biggrin5:
