    I agree fayefaye. I assume he was chiristian though. Most people in england and north america were chistian at this time.

    I'm going to argue that he probably was because:

    Orwell argued against things that he strongly dissagreed with. With Christianity being such a big part of American culture at the time, if he wasn't I imagine that he would have written somthing about how Christianity sucked. Am I making sense? I just reread my post twice and I can't tell if I am or not. I need some coffee.
    ...Also baby duck hat would be good for parties.

    In my opinion he wasn't, as in his book animal farm tehres a raven who knows nothing but "sugar candy mountain" , which I take it as a symbol of heaven.

    If he was a believer he would have believed it in a much different way than most people.

    I think he was just showing how the governments used religion to make people work. Like all the pigs say he's spreading lies, but then they give him beer everyday, encouraging him to stay.
