    backgammon

in the last quarter final bout of the tournament, another couple of vegetable giants----tomatoes vs peppers!

i think if asparagus wins the tournament tailor, going to the festival has to be on your bucket list!

I recently inherited a couple of cans of asparagus. have you ever had it on pizza?

that's a tougher one---but monopoly. although I like the movie battleship.

    into the veggie final four:

    cauliflower vs brussels sprouts

Asparagus festival has been on my list for some time On pizza? mais non. My idea of toppings is prolly the antithesis of what you have in mind... and hopefully counterbalances those pesky carbohydrates with my fantasy all meat pizza (sans fishies)

    Brussels sprouts

    Stratego or Monopoly ?

the expiration date on the cans is 2026, and I don't have a problem eating canned food for 2-3 afterwards, so ive got a good 4-5 yrs to figure out how to eat it.

    how about asparagus and rice?

hmmm, I like stratego a lot, but still monopoly.

and in the bottom half of the vegetable final four----the aforementioned asparagus against the very popular perennial all-star, tomatoes!

oh that's a good idea, I like that. I just bought bunches of crackers too so I need to eat those up before they go stale. maybe I wont wait 5 yrs and i'll give it a shot in the next few days. i'll let you know.

I used to really like miniature golf, but that has suffered from the same fate as board games, no one to play with. ive only genuinely golfed once in my lifetime, despite growing up in the neighborhood of the local country club. apparently you have to belong to the club to use the course, go figure!

frisbee golf it is! I was at a park once somewhere playing, NC maybe, where they had a formal course and enjoyed that. more successful technique, less slicing and hooking and missed balls and no divots.

a surprise winner, moving on to the finals but first, the consolation match between:

    tomatoes vs cauliflower.

that's a good point---I suspect tomatoes are king when it comes to their versatility.

I have both. I think if I were going to be on an episode of mountain men id go with the Leatherman, otherwise, my nifty little swiss army does the trick. I make pretty good use of the can opener.

and in the vegetable finals, two surprising upstarts who have defeated some of the heavyweight favorites, asparagus vs brussels sprouts!

Circa thirty years ago my one and only Swiss army knife had a pair of scissors which I employed the most; lost it ... Using an older Leatherman presently.

    ASPARAGUS !

Thrift stores or yard sales ?

do you ever wonder tailor if your old knife has remained truly lost or it was found and redeemed by some lucky fellow, who making use of it to this day.

    congratulations to asparagus!

you might enjoy hearing over the weekend I tried the canned asparagus in some cream of celery soup and it worked really well.

oh that's a fun one. I like both a lot, but im going to go with thrift stores not just because of their inventory size, but because they are often engaged in charitable work.

okay---I think on to the 3rd this or that march madness inspired tournament---fruit or condiments or desserts soda pop or old tv shows?

    Knife... one could only hope

    Soup... glad to hear

Agree with charitable work. Perused two thrift stores recently. One that supports Hospice Care is where I made my 3-purchases: Bowling Ball with finger grip inserts that perfectly fit my hand for $6.99 (plugged & redrilled a few times, but modern stock), an iridescent Anchor dish that I will employ for microwaving soups, and a book on American poetry about 5-ladybugs thick.

    Old TV shows

The Dick Van Dyke Show or The Burns and Allen Show ?
