raw carrots are a great snack but poor popeye.
I don't dislike root beer but its generally last on my soda pop drinking hierarchy, plus I like stratego, so the board game wins this one.
potatoes vs brussels sprouts?

i wonder if that's a surprise upset? i love potatoes.
yes, Othello the Shakespeare play might have made the choice easier, but im still going with sprite!
asparagus vs green beans?
Asparagus!... not even close.

I suspected green beans would have been a long shot.
sprite closer to stratego than root beer, but still stratego.
a much anticipated match-up between celery and broccoli!

I put broccoli on the last frozen pizza I had but its hard to beat celery with peanut butter on it.
cola wins again. if you can believe it, I was recently able to buy about 12 12 packs of faygo from big lots for about 70 cents per pack.
lettuce vs peppers (I just planted some old seeds but im skeptical theyre going to germinate)
Looked up Faygo on wikipedia... interesting company... haven't seen their product in Cali.
Cola over chess? Hmm, I would have thought otherwise.
Lettuce makes a fine bedding for avocados (dang this spellcheck in Safari for Windows... it's useless!), tomatoes, sunflower kernels, spinach, salad dressing, et al... but a nice stuffed green or yellow or red Bell Pepper is divine Going with peppers... but not the spicy ones !!!!!!!!!!!

I hadn't thought of faygo not being a nationwide brand. when I was a kid "red pop" was a unique and semi-popular thing.
i wonder now about shasta.
I love peppers on pizza and a lettuce based salad is fantastic.
soda pop is a close second place to potato chips in my junk food vice universe, and the colas are the best of the bunch. the board games might be faring better if I had someone to play them with. I find as I contemplate board games, im more partial to the ones that include elements of chance to them as opposed to just skill and strategy. "chance" alleviates some of the competitive pressure to win.
a tougher choice this time around but cola over stratego.
closing battle of the opening round: tomatoes vs onions?
We have/had? Shasta in Cali... haven't had one in ages, but then my consumption of soda is very-very small. There used to be a Shasta plant/distribution in Hayward, California one would pass nearby going from the East S.F. Bay to the West S.F. Bay on one of the many bay bridges.
Tomatoes
Ok, soft drinks seemed to be favored over board games...
Regular Checkers or chess ?

one wonders the connection between shasta the soda pop and mt shasta.
I think theres lots of fuzziness in the choices based on the soda and board games in question---tempered by the presence or absence of playing partners. id be willing to give up most kinds of pop in order to regularly play a large handful of board games.
I think if im playing by myself, chess; if im playing with another person, checkers.
and into the first bout of the vegetable quarter finals----squash vs cauliflower?
re: Shasta... yes: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shasta_(drink)
re: fuzzy... ah, I see.
Difficult choice... go with cauliflower. My daughter says she uses cauliflower rice instead of normal rice... haven't tried it yet.
When playing board games alone: Yahtzee or chess ? (or, if you deem Yahtzee not a board game Risk in its place)

that was interesting---a mt shasta and shasta soda pop connection, and I see faygo was mentioned in the article too. along the lines of the latters red pop, it seems I vaguely remember the formers version too.
rice with cauliflower sounds good.
I recently had some pasta made from corn and rice---it had a noticeably different texture. I didn't dislike it, but I didn't prefer it either.
im on only child, I actually used to play board games by myself sometimes as a kid---ive never played risk alone, but you hit the mother lode on that one tailor, it might be my favorite board game. but I suspect it would lose a lot of its appeal playing by myself (have never tried), so maybe chess is indeed the winner.
carrots vs brussels sprouts?
No... not rice with Cauliflower, though that does sound good, but riced cauliflower (my bad)... https://www.walmart.com/ip/Great-Val...EaAkyCEALw_wcB

ah, that might be like the cauliflower version of "spaghetti squash"
I like them both, but edge towards monopoly. I have a couple variants of the game id love to try sometime, I think one might be an nfl version.
and now, entering the vegetable octagon, two giants from the green world---asparagus vs broccoli!
