ABC of cities, countries & other geo. locations

This game is as simple as ABC
    - the aim is to name in alphabetical sequence a village, town, city, province, state, country or some such geographical territory or location. You may give a short description, it's up to you.
    Ok, I'll start ....

    Aklan (province in the Philippines)
"He lives most gaily who knows best how to deceive himself. Ha-ha!"
    - CRIME AND PUNISHMENT
    (Fyodor Dostoyevsky)

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. ~ Mark Twain

Full many a gem of purest ray serene
The dark unfathom'd caves of ocean bear:
Full many a flower is born to blush unseen,
And waste its sweetness on the desert air.
