    patience revisited

*i remembered this yesterday, wrote it when i was in my late teens.* (which was ages ago, lol). Anyway, I must've known that one day I would need to laugh at my foresight.

    It was a
    Simple thing
    Waiting a few
    Lifetimes to
    Be with him;

    It's the
    20 minutes he's
    Late coming
    Home from work
    I can't stand.
    shh!!!
the air and water have been here a long time, and they are telling stories.

I like the humour in it.
I sang of leaves, of leaves of gold, and leaves of gold there grew.

Such truth to the poem. Is this based on true love?

Such stinging truth of such a small reality. It is wonderfully poignant and surprising
    "real
    loneliness
    is not
    necessarily
    limited to
    when
    you are
    alone
    "
    -C. Bukowski

Funny how I saw this not in here but in the much-discussed-of-late plagiarising forum while going through that to check if Prince's last post here has been taken as well. The title took me in for a read, and then I liked it and came back here to see whose it is. Good one Amuse, amusing and amazing.

(someone thought to comment on your poem there so I thought I should rather steer them here: http://forum.3rbdream.net/dream29/pa...isited-128787/ )

Unfortunately, the comment you refer to (by Inez, the moderator) may have assumed that the poem was written by our local rat-plagiarist

    I'm glad you liked it!
And yes...it is true, NOW. At the time - over
20 years ago -I was um addicted to Cosmopolitan mags and had the idea to send poetry in. This sort of poppped out. No idea where from, either - I didn't have a bf or anything to inspire it! I kind of liked it, too, though. And I have a new boyfriend - had the last for 17,18 years (give or take a few?) and this one for over half a year, and my patience is nowhere to be found! But he's VERY patient (though frequently late) and I love him dearly.

Hence the remembrance of this poem the other day, LOL!!!

*BTW, thx for the link to the Arabic thread. Blech. Not the nicest way to compliment us, is it? Imitation's one thing; theft is another...
    shh!!!
