    Happy Belated Birthday, JBI!

    Happy Birthday!

    An interview with JBI:

*Why are we doing this interview thing?*
You asked, which means you aren't bored yet.

*Are you sure you want to do this?*
    ...

    Why would you want that?
    no reason.

*If you had a personal theme song what would it be?*
    Lady Gaga

*Are you male or female? *
    male

    *Do you like red cars?*
    no

*If you owned the site, what would you change?
    *

Get rid of the annoying pop up on the main site that hits me every time I load the texts.

*What was the inspiration for your LitNet username?*
    My Initials.

    *Which countries have you visited?*
Too many to name, somewhere around 40.

    *Which languages do you speak?*
My Hebrew and Italian are fading rapidly, my French is more or less faded completely, but I speak fluent English and Chinese.

*How do you like your home town?*
Not too loud, not too unclean and not too small. The food isn't bad either.
*If you could live somewhere different, where would it be and why?*
Very hard question, having just come back from a year abroad, it is incredibly difficult to give an answer as to where I would feel more comfortable, probably Montreal if I could learn French.

    *What makes you happy?*
    Ice cream.

*Do you feel comfortable in your walk with God/atheism? *
    Yes

*Which actor should play you in a movie based on your life?*
    Woody Allen

    Who is your favourite Beatle?
    Paul

*How do you like your coffee? *
Black with a minimal amount of milk to balance off the acidity.

*Given the option, what animal would you choose to be?*
    Walrus

*What makes you feel great about yourself?*
My critical ability to find what's wrong with things.

    *Who inspires you most?*
    God?

*What are you naturally good at? (Skills, abilities, gifts etc.)*
Arguing, finding what's wrong about things, being able to say exactly what I think, knowing my own limitations.

*What is the one thing you must do before you die?*
    Opium

    *Is there a selfless act?*
    No.

*If you had to teach something, what would you teach?*
Literature, namely poetry, since I think it is fun.

*What would you regret not fully doing, being or having in your life?*
Good toilet paper and proper plumbing - going a year without either teaches one something, though I avoided it by bringing 30 rolls of the good expensive stuff from Canada to China. Still, the lack of running water and bugs in most "washrooms" in China changes one's perspectives on "clean" and alters one's notions of "smell."

*If you were to be stuck at a particular time in your life, which one would you choose and why?*
Age 70 when I arrive there. I think I'll be able to be dismissed as "old and grumpy" then and get away with everything.

*Do you get tired living life?*
    No.

*Do you have a tasty recipe for life that you could share for a reasonable price? … Is it REALLY tasty?*
    Yes.

*What method do you cherish above all others, as means to improving your life?*
    Hard Work.

*What one thing would you NEED to have on a deserted island if you didn't have to worry over food and water? *
    Someone else

*If you were a king/queen for a day, what would you do?*
    Buy expensive dinners.

*What’s the stupidest forum argument you’ve ever had?*
OH there are so many, it must be with those preachers who pop up for periods of time and just yell at people - they are still here, some of them, though most just disappear after a while. Though on my part stupid I once corrected Petrarch's Love when I was wrong, which I am still embarrassed about today

*What song is in your head at the moment?*
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkhyIdWnA44

a year straight of listening to that every time you eat cements it in your mind.

*Which book are you reading at the moment?*
樂府詩集 or,collection of Yue Fu poems.

    *Favorite avatar on the Forum?*
Not that starving child, which I believe has been changed, it bothers everyone to be forced to feel reality every time they look at it. It's true, and it is disgusting that that exists, but it is awfully hard to look at.

    What's your favorite sandwich?
Montreal Smoked Meat, the real deal not the cheap ripoff.

*What is your answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything?*?
    non sequitur

    pants and a t shirt

    Common era.

    *Favorite TV shows?*

*Last words you said out loud?*
No, I don't want to go, that's the middle of nowhere, no way in hell would I travel there.

*What do you do (for a living) to be able to keep your LitNet addiction going? And are you happy with your chosen profession?*
    Student

*Would you rather be an educated fool or an ignorant fool?*
Ignorant fool, ignorance is half an excuse for foolishness.

    Firefighter

*Which one of the seven dwarves are you and why?*
    Angry

*What is your most outstanding feature?*
    Nerve

*If you could change one thing about the way you look, what would that be?*
    Thicken the hair a bit.

*Which book do you wish you had written?*
    Harry Potter $$

*What book would you recommend to others of all types and ages as a must read?*
    Fortress Besieged.

*What should you be doing at the moment instead of answering these questions?*
    Sleeping

    *Describe your ideal day, please.*
Good food, good tea, good wine, good company.

    *Favorite movie?*
    Mrs. Doubtfire

    *Last movie you watched?
    Suzhou River

If half the world can take their time or foreclose, so can I.

*One final word of wisdom for LitNet users?*
    Wrap it up.

Why was it that JBI did not get the first birthday thread on August 7th 2011? Come on people!.

Seeing as how I didn't get a real birthday thread, I don't feel half bad for half-a$#ing the interview.

Happy birthday, and you've made me want to go stand in line for an hour outside on the Main to get some smoked meat at Schwartz's.

Yeah, that has to be a joke. And I think his mind probably just overloaded when the poetry question was asked.

I hope I can do one of these interview things. They look fun.

    Really?
Yes, really. Number One. And anybody who doesn't like that film doesn't have a sense of humor.

Haha, that movie is terrible! It's also so random to be your favorite, some silly Robin Williams comedy from the 90's. You're not really a "movie" kind of guy, are you?
