    Voltaire’s realm and Baron Munchausen

    The Surprising Adventures of Baron Munchausen, was created by Rudolf Erich Raspe (28 March 1736 – 16 November 1794) a German librarian, writer, and scientist, called by his biographer John Patrick Carswell a "rogue". He is best known for his collection of tall tales also known as Baron Munchausen's Narrative of his Marvellous Travels and Campaigns in Russia, originally a satirical work with political aims.

    A real Baron Munchhausen is also on record :

    born 11 may 1720 at Bodenwerder Karl Friedrich Hieronymus, baron Münchhausen died 22 feb 1797 Bodenwerder an officer, mercenary, in the pay of the Russian army. The fictionalized account of his exploits made him one of the most popular heroes of German literature.

    apparently , both the baron and his creator were fathered by ames Francis Edward Stuart aka Voltaire as follows

    3 September 1719 Maria Clementina , granddaughter of King John III Sobieski of Poland, and James Francis Edward were formally married on 3 September 1719 in the chapel of the episcopal palace of Montefiascone, Italy, in the Cathedral of Santa Margherita.[4] Following their marriage, James and Maria Clementina were invited to reside in Rome at the special request of Pope Clement XI, who acknowledged them as the king and queen of England, Scotland and Ireland.akok43

    his creator :

    conc july 1735 Rudolf Erich Raspe (28 March 1736 – 16 November 1794) was a German librarian, writer, and scientist, called by his biographer John Patrick Carswell a "rogue". He is best known for his collection of tall tales The Surprising Adventures of Baron Munchausen, also known as Baron Munchausen's Narrative of his Marvellous Travels and Campaigns in Russia, originally a satirical work with political aims.

    1 August 1735 + (not really) of Emmanuel Ignatius of Nassau-Siegen (6 January 1688 - 1 August 1735), was a Fieldmarshal of the Spanish and Austrian Army, and Regent of the Principality of Nassau-Siegen in 1727.

    In Paris 11 August, 1735, Voltaire’s*1688 play “The Death of Cæsar,” imitated from (Voltaire thought it an improvement on) the “Julius Cæsar” of Shakespeare, was played by the pupils of the Harcourt College on the day of their prize-giving. “I have abandoned two theatres as too full of cabals” wrote the author gaily, “that of the Comédie Française and that of the world.” The truth was “The Death of Cæsar” was unsuited to the stage, and of what its author called “a Roman ferocity.” It had no love interest and no female characters.Voltaire was not a little indignant when the piece appeared in print in Paris—totally unauthorised and shamefully incorrect. “The editor has massacred Cæsar worse than Brutus and Cassius ever did,” said he. Its appearance was the chief trouble of this autumn of 1735.

    Translation of letter snippet you quoted: "“When you had a father, and in this father a master, you were a philosopher, and lived under your laws.”" Tried to find more translation of the letter, but no joy... did find Voltaire with FtG in parts 1.4 & 1.5 of the following link: https://encyclopedia.pub/entry/29687

    Johann Wenzel Anton Stamitz , son of Voltaire *1688

    Fall 1716 Eté 1716. Voltaire est à Sullly-sur Loire où il est frappé d'exil. Du chateau de Sully, il écrit à la marquise de Mimeure :Il serait délicieux pour moi de rester à Sully s'il m'était possible d'en sortir. M. le duc de Sully est le plus aimable des hommes et celui à qui j'ai le plus d'obligation (Maximilien Henri, Duc de Sully, sovereign Pr d’Henrichemont et de Boisbelle, etc (1669-Paris 2 Feb 1729);

His two surviving sons, Carl and Anton Stamitz, were composers of the Mannheim school, of which Johann is considered the founding father. His music is stylistically transitional between the Baroque and Classical periods.

    On 28 November 1716, France and Britain concluded a treaty of mutual guarantee at Palace Herrenhausen in Hannover, George’s German residence .Georg Ludwig, Duke-Elector of Hannover, inherited the British throne following the exclusion of the Catholic Stuart dynasty as a consequence of the 1688 Glorious Revolution. The ‘Pretender’ James Stuart (1688-1766), son of the late James II (1633-1701) travelled from one catholic continent court to another and was considered a serious menace to Britain’s internal security.

Some arias in the musical library of Mar and Stuart belong to Gasparini’s Arsace (Corp 2005b, p. 16).
