Liar -
yes you
and shut up when I'm talking to you.
You said
it was dead
put it out of your head
well that was lie number one
cause it's alive
and it's kicking
and it's got teeth.
Beautiful, shining, razor-sharp teeth.

Liar.
Liar -
tell another
and smother
the truth like an unwanted baby.
Of course it's not their fault
ridiculous notion
hugs all round
keep the peace
with lie number two.

Liar.
Liar -
stop crying and don't interrupt.

well oh dear
it's not here
because I may have a steel trap memory
but you know
I can only keep up
with so much
at a time.

What kind of liar

don't just sit there
keep on going
go clean up your mess
and apologize to the cat -

Ooh, I love this one! So direct, and so nasty, and the poetic touches like the rhyme and the repetition make it all the more effective without taking away from that directness. I especially loved the "apologize to the cat" line; it seems like a perversely funny line in an otherwise dark poem.
