Rilla of Ingleside

Search

(1920)

Anne's children are almost grown up, except for pretty, high-spirited Rilla. No one can resist her bright hazel eyes and dazzling smile. Rilla, almost fifteen, can't think any further ahead than going to her very first dance at the Four Winds lighthouse and getting her first kiss from handsome Kenneth Ford. But undreamed-of challenges await the irrepressible Rilla when the world of Ingleside is endangered by a far-off war. Her brothers go off to fight, and Rilla brings home an orphaned newborn in a soup tureen. She is swept into a drama that tests her courage and changes her forever.

Who's your fv. character in Rilla of Ingleside

I've just been reading Rilla Of Ingleside, and I thought it really great. So I just want to know who's your fv. character in that book? Of course, with so many nice characters to choose from, it would be quite hard...but I thought I'd try. So,please tell me! (mine is Walter)

Rilla of Ingleside is one of the most perfect books ever written--it blends elements of humor, pain, and joy into a masterpiece. i laughed so hard at susan, felt elated when ken danced with rilla, and cried when walter died. i sobbed at the end too, because the beautiful book was over and so was the anne series. i will never forget this book.

Anne and Gilbert

i am just so in love with the romance between anne and gilbert. i have watched the movie that was on PBS during their pledging period. and it was so sweet....i think every girl wants a gilbert of their own...^^

I started the Anne of Green Gables series when I was 9. I loved all the books, and still do. Rilla of Ingleside was one of the best in my opinion. When I finished it I was so sad that I finished the series.
Now, I am on the look-out for "kindred spirits," and those of "the race that knows Joseph."
While reading Rilla of Ingleside the real world seemed to be non-existent, and Rilla's world, that of which would last for all eternity.

LMM did the best job writing her books, and all of the Charectors became so alive. Rilla of Ingleside was amazing, though it was the saddest. I could not stand when The Anne Of Green Gables series came to an end , I wish that there were more books.

I thouroughly enjoy the Anne of Green Gables series more than I can say.
Ms. Montgomery has such a way with words that make all her characters come to life. I love her descriptions about nature, as well. They really touched me! Anne Shirley is truly an excellant character and she has been an outstanding roll model for me. I love the simple elegance on Avonlea and Ingelside...they help me connect to a world I never knew.

L.M. Is gr88888!!!!!

From the day i received the book 'Anne of Green Gables', I've been in love with L.M.'s books. So far I have only read from 'Anne of Green Gables' to 'Anne of Ingleside' but now that i've discovered all these books i'm definitely not going to stop. I feel part of Anne's life and part of the environment and sometimes I just wish I lived in that ficticious world. May the Anne fans and L.M.'s fans grow in number.
